Through the 60 year old museum school, early childhood learning is supported by collections and combines natural and physical sciences, history, and anthropology with art, music, and literature. These developmentally appropriate experiences reached over 2,084 students last year. The museum also supports school based learning and professional development for educators. The Texas Center of Inquiry provides educators and administrators professional development in science inquiry through intensive weekly institutes. In 2011-2012 the program served 560 teachers. Program service accomplishments: practitioners to be more effective by teaching techniques in hands-on learning and developments in the field of inquiry-based learning.
