In this assessment, health-related behaviors were identified as important components of long-term health and well-being and included current immunizations, maintaining a healthy weight status and improving nutrition, smoking cessation, increasing physical activity, preventing substance abuse, maintaining oral health, and preventing violence and injury. The report identified health outcomes of cancer; diabetes; heart disease and stroke; infectious diseases; maternal, infant and child health; mental health; and respiratory diseases. It was determined that the priority areas of focus to improve health are health access and delivery of care; social determinants of health; a combination of nutrition, weight status, physical activity and fitness; injury and violence prevention; and mental health treatment. RCHSD PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE CARE AND TREATMENT TO CHILDREN RANGING IN AGE FROM NEWBORN THROUGH INDEPENDENT ADULTHOOD. RCHSD IS THE SOLE PEDIATRIC LEVEL 1 TRAUMA CENTER SERVING SAN DIEGO AND IMPERIAL COUNTIES. ALSO, RCHSD IS THE PEDIATRIC SAFETY NET HOSPITAL FOR THE REGION WITH A MEDI-CAL PAYOR MIX HOVERING OVER 50%.
