The majority (60.5%) of our clients receive assistance through advice, brief counsel, and referral. The remaining clients were provided with extended representation which included negotiation and court representation. NLSA obtained a total of $1,623,369.00 in back awards/settlements for clients along with $303,314.00 in total monthly benefits.SEE CONTINUATION OF PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS ON SCHEDULE O.CONTINUED FROM PAGE 2NLSA continued implementation of several collaborative projects based on "models that work" -successful projects operated by other legal aid programs and innovative projects that themselves can serve as "models that work" for other programs statewide and beyond. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 8b Each committee reports the discussions and activities of the committee meeting at the subsequent full Board of Directors meeting. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11 The Form 990 is reviewed by the Executive Director, Assistant Director, Controller and the Director of Program Performance and Compliance. The Form 990 is then provided to the Board of Directors prior to filing. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c A conflict questionnaire is sent to board members each year and these are reviewed by the Board President and the Program Director for Compliance and Performance for conflicts. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15 The Personnel Committee of the Board does an evaluation and salary comparability review of the Executive Director every 2 years. The recommendations and evaluations are presented to the full Board for approval. The last slary adjustment for the Executive Director was approved in December 2010. Managers are paid a salary increment for the position and receive the equivalent raises of staff attorneys under the collective bargaining agreement. The Assistant Director, Controller and Director of Performance and Compliance receive compensation based on responsibilities and seniority determined by the Executive Director with advice and consent of the NLSA Board President and President-Elect. The Development Coordinator is paid under a shared compensation contract with the Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network which is set by the Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network.
