This is done via our statewide call center, ParentHelp123.org, WashingTeenHelp.org and our in-person assistors. WithinReach connected more than 250,000 individuals and families to benefit programs such as health insurance, Pregnancy Medicaid, Washington Apple Health for Kids, WIC, Basic Food, Take Charge Family Planning, child development screening tools, Summer Meal sites, food banks, free immunization programs and local community clinics. WithinReach staff assesses the needs of a family, screens for State program eligibility, helps complete application and provides referrals to partner organizations. WithinReach also develops and distributes free public health education and outreach materials in multiple languages. A key focus of work at WithinReach has been the Help Me Grow program connects families to free developmental screenings, games and activities that promote growth and development. Individualized outreach work is also paired with broad communication strategies including: community newspaper advertisements, on-line banner ads, Facebook posts, Google Adwords campaigns, newsletter articles and information distribution at health fairs and community events. The nutrition outreach program provides information, referrals, and application assistance to over 16,000 King County residents. WithinReach assists with application screening and submission for a number of public assistance programs, including Basic Food (SNAP food stamps) and conducts in-person outreach at sites throughout King and Snohomish Counties, including food banks, community clinics, libraries, and job-training sites, collaborating with over 50 partner agencies. WithinReach trains and supervises a volunteer corps recruited by the United Way of King County to do community outreach work. 606164 0 687052 IMMUNIZATION The Immunization promotion and awareness work at WithinReach includes: printing and distribution of 15,000 laminated childhood immunization schedules to providers; hosting quarterly Immunization Action Coalition of WA (IACW) meetings with educational presentations and panels, attended by over 120 IACW members; coordination of a CME program for immunization providers presented by CDC trainers with over 400 attendees; administering a distance learning curriculum for childcare providers on the importance of adult immunizations, which was successfully completed by 567 childcare providers; implementation of a multi-year social marketing immunization initiative With CDC funding WithinReach piloted a comprehensive hepatitis B education, testing, vaccination, and linkage to care services project targeting adults born in Asia or Africa in King County. Work is also focused on supporting community health centers in enhancing the breastfeeding support they provide to new mothers, with a particular focus on African American, Native American and Latino families.
