The emergency shelter facility located in Washington County has a capacity of 15 beds and 2 cribs. The emergency shelter facility located in Fayette County has a capacity of 15 beds and 3 cribs. Safe shelter is provided in both shelters for up to 30 days at confidential locations. Services provided in the shelters include: 24-hour hotline; 24-hour intake and transportation; individual and group empowerment counseling; children's program; information and referrals; accompaniment; general and legal advocacy; and food, clothing and personal care items. In FY 2013/14, a total of 6,421 shelter nights were provided to a total of 358 women and children in the Washington County shelter, and a total of 4,889 shelter nights were provided to a total of 306 women and children in the Fayette County shelter. The Washington County shelter fielded 678 domestic violence-related hotline calls and the Fayette County shelter fielded 353 domestic violence-related hotline calls. A total of 10,848 hours of individual, group, and hotline empowerment counseling were provided to 957 domestic violence victims, children, and significant others in the Washington County shelter, and a total of 3,146 hours of individual, group, and hotline empowerment counseling were provided to 463 domestic violence victims, children, and significant others in the Fayette County shelter. 465090 436401 28689 FRESH START TRANSITIONAL HOUSING The DVSSP Fresh Start Transitional Housing program, which consists of 12 scattered-site apartments in Washington County and two in Greene County, provides furnished apartments for up to two years to women, with or without children, who are homeless due to domestic violence. Services provided include: group and individual empowerment counseling; information and referrals; advocacy and accompaniment; life skills training; legal and general advocacy; transportation; children's program; and household items, clothing and personal care items. A total of 19 women and 35 children received transitional housing services in FY 2013/14. 72106 49231 22875 Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern PA SATELLITE OFFICE Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern PA operates a satellite office in Greene County. Services provided to victims of domestic violence include: 24-hour hotline; transportation to the Washington County or Fayette County emergency shelter facilities; information and referrals; group and individual empowerment counseling; accompaniment; and legal and general advocacy. In FY 2013/14, our Greene County site fielded 360 domestic violence-related hotline calls. A total of 593 counseling hours were provided to a total of 355 victims, significant others, and children. A total of 89 Protection From Abuse petitions were filed through our Greene County site, which enters all Greene County PFA petitions into the statewide PFA database. 162465 150465 12000 LEGAL ADVOCACY In addition to DVSSP legal advocacy services offered in our Greene County satellite office, our Legal Advocacy Office in the Washington County Courthouse provides empowerment counseling and legal advocacy to victims of domestic violence. Services include information and referrals and assistance in filing Protection From Abuse petitions. In FY 2013/14, 482 Protection From Abuse petitions were filed through our Washington County legal advocacy program, which also enters all Washington County PFA petitions into the statewide PFA database. In FY 2013/14 in our Fayette County legal advocacy program, 151 Protection From Abuse petitions were filed. 214202 200202 14000 EDUCATION AND TRAINING DEPARTMENT The DVSSP Education and Training Department focuses on the prevention of domestic violence, community awareness of the impact of domestic violence, trainings about domestic violence and the services available to victims, and volunteer opportunities within the organization. In FY 2013/14 in Washington County, 98 community education programs were provided to 2,982 adults, 102 prevention programs were provided to 2,877 students and youth, 31 community/systems trainings were provided to 554 persons, and 70 media and events of other types were completed. In Greene County, 13 community education programs were provided to 189 persons, 58 prevention programs were provided to 1,405 students and youth, 7 community/systems trainings were provided to 73 persons, and 34 media and events of other types were completed. In Fayette County, 43 community education programs were provided to 1,133 persons, 43 prevention programs were provided to 1,133 students and youth, 9 community/systems trainings were provided to 105 persons, and 31 media and events of other types were completed. All 14 units are required by grant funding to be leased at or below the allowable HUD Fair Market Rental rates according to the number of bedrooms per unit. All of the units are leased below the allowable Fair Market Rental rates. (Moreover, the two one-bedroom units are leased at identical amounts, and all twelve two-bedroom units are leased at identical amounts.) Two units/apartments are located in Waynesburg, Greene County. Eleven units/apartments are located within the city of Washington, with the exception of the unit described in Schedule L Part IV, which is located in South Strabane township-Trinity School District and affords Washington County Fresh Start program participants the option of attending a school district other than the city of Washington school district.
