The mission of DC Campaign is to cut the city's teen pregnancy rate in half. DC Campaign seeks to change the conversation from blaming teens to framing prevention. We do this by providing technical assistance to all groups who want to incorporate teen pregnancy prevention into their programs. We also train parents and other adults, and we connect local organizations with national experts. We do this work because research shows that by reducing teenage pregnancy, we can also reduce child abuse, juvenile crime and school failure. The study involved seven focus groups with District teens, parents, and other adult guardians of teens and seven ethnographies with District teens and adults. PerryUndem Research and Communication conducted the study along with Diann Warren McCants, Ph.D. The special research project took place July through September 2013.
