However, certain activities of exempt organizations, to the extent profitable, may be subject to Federal and state taxation as unrelated business income. No provision for income taxes has been made in these financial statements, as management has identified no tax liability. CJP recognizes the financial statement impact of a tax position only after determining that the relevant tax authority would have a greater than 50 percent likelihood of sustaining the position following an audit. CJP's most significant position related to taxes is its charitable status and the resulting exemption from income taxes. CJP has applied this more-likely-than-not threshold to all tax positions for which the statute of limitation is open and determined there were no material uncertain tax positions as of June 30, 2013 and 2012. It is CJP's policy to record estimated interest and penalties (if any) as part of management and general expense.
