      <PrimaryExemptPurposeTxt>The mission of KidCare International, a relationship-based, humanitarian aid organization, is to equip and empower desperately disadvantaged children to lead lives of purpose, service, and leadership through sustainable programs and strategic partnerships.</PrimaryExemptPurposeTxt>
      <ProgramSrvcAccomplishmentGrp>
        <DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>International Programs -KidCare International links caring people with some of the worlds most disadvantaged children by way of our Sponsor a Child program. A full sponsorship helps provide food, shelter, medical care and necessary educational essentials. School uniforms, tuition fees, books, and other miscellaneous supplies are provided for by way of this program.The opportunity of education is a great treasure to these children. Many of them walk hours each day just to go to school. It is not uncommon for a child to walk an hour to school and no have breakfast or lunch. They will choose school over eating.A full sponsorship is $30.00/month and a partial sponsorship is $15.00/month. KidCare gathers the funds monthly and passes them on to the orphanages, home, or care facility where the sponsored child lives.Golden Mgonzo of Arusha, Tanzania oversees the programs in East Africa. When funds are wired to the East Africa programs, usually on a quarterly basis, Golden personally delivers the funds to the centers, Shalome Home for kids and Simpn Panga at the Cheswea Center for Street Kids. Copies of teh receipts for food and supplies purchased are sent to KidCare. Test results for teh students are passed on to us as well, sponsors like to share how well their kids are doing in school.Over the years of sponsorships, KidCare has seen many of it's sponsored children grow up to be not only able to provide for themselves but become teachers, business people, government workers and great parents. For KidCare the proof of a successful program is the well adjusted adults able to provide for themselves and add to the lives of others.Sponsorship monies for children in the Samaritan's Village Orphanage are sent to their headquarters office located in Yuba City, CA from where they are forwarded to the director of the orphanage.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>

        <DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>Domestic Programs - Food Bank - KidCare's food bank is located at 9014 Benson Avenue Unit A in Montclair, CA. Every Saturday, rain or shine, KidCare is serving local families from 9:30 - 11:30 AM. In 2013, with the help of over 200 volunteers, KidCare served 4,832 families from Riverside, San Bernardino, and Los Angeles counties.The food collection is a very involved process requiring trips to local supermarkets and restaurants such as Vons, Starbucks, Auntie Anne's Pretzels,and the restaurant at the Claremont Club. Every Friday morning, Gary Sconyers gets up at 4:00am for the journey to the First Harvest Food Bank in San Bernardino where he loads up the KidCare van with food for the next morning's food boxes which are handed out to the local needy.It is always heartbreaking and fulfilling to see moms feed their hungry kids dried cereal right there on the spot or to see grown men step around the corner and tear open a loaf of bread because it has been awhile since they had a meal. The supplement of the KidCare food bank is a necessity to many single moms or large families. Weekly we hear the thankful words of how they couldn't make it without KidCare. It is not uncommon to get special calls from local schools identifying needy families. KidCare is always honored to serve the families as soon as possible.The team of volunteers, led by Sylvia Sconyers, starts early Saturday morning dividing up the food that has been collected that week, placing it in boxes so everyone gets balanced boxes of food - usually fresh vegetables, some canned vegetables, pasta, meat, breakfast cereal, and always a birthday or anniversary cake for the "special day" candidates.Summer Camp - KidCare Participates as a Summer Food Service Program sponsor, a program funded through the USDA. In 2013, KidCare held a six week summer day camp with over 83 children participating in summer camp activities and being fed healthy meals, three times a day, three days a week.Thanksgiving Baskets - It is always a blessing to share Thanksgiving with the less fortunate. In excess of 200 KidCare Thanksgiving baskets were provided to hurting families in 2013. Baskets filled with a Turkey, stuffing, vegetables, cranberry sauce, and obviosly a pumpkin pie are prepared by the KidCare volunteers and passed on to families.Turkeys are gathered by KidCare volunteers from concerned friends, co-workers, clubs, organizations, churches, etc. Albertsons supermarket at Foothill and Vineyard in Rancho Cucamonga allowed KidCare workers to set up displays asking shoppers to purchase something extra to put into the Thanksgiving baskets. The generous shoppers filled seven shopping carts with everything from turkeys to pies for the project. A great big thanks goes out to the manager of that Albertsons market - Thanks Jim Taylor for sharing your resources to make it a great day for so many people.KidPaks - Erica Alanias leads KidCare as we celebrate Christmas by delivering bakcpacks stuffed with new clothes, school supplies, hygiene supllies, and toys to kids who probably would not have any kind of Christmas gifts if it wasn't for the generous people who want to make a difference.The process starts in the smmer when KidCare send the KidCare box truck to downtown Los Angeles to purchase boxes of new backpacks. The KidPak team swings into action by personally tagging the packs with an age and gender tag. Donors are asked to purchase the pack for $5.00, take it home and fill it with the suggested items and return it by early December. Donors often get an office crew, neighborhood, club, or church group to fill as many packs as possible. We find that parents and families of teh more fotunate find taking their children shopping for some other child is a great way to teach about the needs in our world. It hleps keep their worldview in a reality check. Each pack will include $30 - $45 of fun Christmas items.Local schools with whom KidCare has a working relationship are asked to give us the names and ages of needy children. The donated backpacks are prepared for each student by name. Each student is invited to a Christmas party with live entertainment, food, refreshments, and even a visit from Santa! The party culminates with the distribution of a personalized backpack for each child. In 2013, we filled and distributed 220 KidPaks.One of the greatest outcomes of the backpack party is not just when the kids receive the gift but when the more fortunate children are involved in giving away the KidPaks. They really do find that it is more blessed to give than to receive.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>
