Pt VI, Line 4 On 11/18/2014 the Board of Directors voted to change the process for electing members of the Board of Directors in the Code of Regulations. In the new process a Nominating Committee is formed. Any organizational member may self nominate for election to the Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee selects a slate of candidates from these nominations and all current members of the Board of Directors not up for reelection may vote on these candidates. The Board of Directors now consists of twelve seats with staggered four-year terms and two two-year term seats which are reserved for people who are current high school or undergraduate students or have earned a bachelors or associates degree in the last two years and six months. Pt VI, Line 6 The Secular Student Alliance is a democratic membership organization. Any student or non-studentis welcome and encouraged to join. Pt VI, Line 7a Members of the governing body are elected to two year terms at annual elections (half of the seats are up for election in any given year). Candidates are nominated from the membership by the current board or by a petition of 5% of the membership. The candidates with the most votes, and who receive at least half of the total votes, are elected to the open board positions. Pt VI, Line 11b The organizations Form 990 is prepared by an independent accounting firm and then reviewed by the organizations Executive Director. After the Executive Directors review, the organization provides a copy of the Form 990 to the organizations Board of Directors for review before submission. Pt VI, Line 15a The executive directors compensation is determined by a formal annual review process conducted by the board. The review is based on comparative Executive Director compensation from similar organizations. The Executive Director consults external sources for comparative data on other positions.
