The Individual, Organizational, and Athlete Members participate in the election of board members. None of the members receive a share of the Association's profits or excess dues or a share of the Association's net assets upon dissolution. The Controller's salary is included in the Association's annual budget which is approved by the board of directors. When the CEO and the Controller were hired the board used the the Robert Half Salary guide for data concerning comparable compensation. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, line 19 The Association makes governing documents, the conflict of interest policy, and financial statements available to the public on their website. Form 990, Part XII, line 2c The finance and audit committee select an accounting firm to perform the audit of the financial statements. Their selection is then approved by the board of directors. The audit is overseen by the Chief Executive Officer and the Controller. The ending financial statements are reviewed by the finance and audit committee before being presented to the board of directors. Although the committee selected a new independent auditor this year, the process of overseeing the audit and selecting the independent auditor has not changed.
