This applies to positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. The adoption of this guidance did not have any impact on ISF's financial statements, as management believes that there are no uncertain tax positions within its financial statements. ISF currently has procedures in place to review matters that may be considered tax positions including ensuring the maintenance of its tax-exempt status; determining and meeting its filing and tax obligations in the various jurisdictions where it has filing obligations. The 7th annual Imagine Science Film Festival in New York took place from October 17-24,2014 on the theme of "Time". The festival included 89 films (5 features, 84 shorts) from 20 countries around the world, including 49 premiers and featuring 35 female directors. Similar to past festivals, we traveled to venues throughout the Tri-State area including Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and New Jersey with partners such as Goodle, The American Museum of Natural History, and The Museum of the Moving Image. Dr. James Watson, Marina Abamovic, Karen Cooper, Dr. David Chalmers, Rachel Sussman and Dustin Yellin donated their time as jury members voting on The Nature Scientific Merit Award, The AAAS Scientist Award & Imaginal Disc Visual Science Award. For the first time, the New York festival hosted a 48-film competition with scientists and filmmakers who were competing for The Panavision Award Science and Entertainment Exchange Award. In addition to the New York Festival, Imagine Science hosted screenings and satellite festivals nationally and aborad. In the United States, Imagine Science traveled to Chicago (February 2014) and San Francisco (August 2014) to host one-night shorts programs. Abroad, Imagine Science travelled to Berlin (October 2014) and hosted 5 screenings and film installation as well as began planning the first annual Imagine Science Abu Dhabi festival in partnership with New York University Abu Dhabi (February 2015). Imagine Science also created original film content for web distribution and educational purposes, TEDMED sponsored an online film series inspired by scientific topics presented as a precursor to TEDMED 2014. Imagine Science also created content around the science of the World Cup in Brazi through a film series called Field Work presented online by PopSci. To support these programs, office, staff, and board expansion was necessary. Imagine Science moved to a new office space in DUMBO, Brooklyn, as well as has hired additional independent contractors to assist with projects throughout the year on website re-design, festival and screens, and management. The board also expanded and has become more active with quarterly meetings in place. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11 The organization's governing body reviews the 990 after it is prepared by the accountant to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the information on the 990. Once they are satisfied with the 990, each Board member is then provided a copy of the 990 before it is filed. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c Each director, officer, employee and volunteer are required to review and acknowledge in writing of the Conflict of Interest Policy, and they are also required to disclosure the conflict of interest annually.
