The emergency shelter facility located in Washington County has a capacity of 15 beds and 2 cribs. The emergency shelter facility located in Fayette County has a capacity of 15 beds and 3 cribs. Safe shelter is provided in both shelters for up to 30 days at confidential locations. Services provided in the shelters include: 24-hour hotline; 24-hour intake and transportation; individual and group empowerment counseling; children's program; information and referrals; accompaniment; general and legal advocacy; and food, clothing and personal care items. In FY 2014/15, a total of 5,321 shelter nights were provided to a total of 315 women and children in the Washington County shelter, and a total of 2,847 shelter nights were provided to a total of 137 women and children in the Fayette County shelter. The Washington County shelter fielded 639 domestic violence-related hotline calls and the Fayette County shelter fielded 476 domestic violence-related hotline calls. A total of 10,389 hours of individual, group, and hotline empowerment counseling were provided to 963 domestic violence victims, children, and significant others in the Washington County shelter, and a total of 3,020 hours of individual, group, and hotline empowerment counseling were provided to 527 domestic violence victims, children, and significant others in the Fayette County shelter. 262100 255166 -6934 FRESH START TRANSITIONAL HOUSING The DVSSP Fresh Start Transitional Housing program, which consists of 12 scattered-site apartments in Washington County, provides furnished apartments for up to two years to women, with or without children, who are homeless due to domestic violence. Services provided include: group and individual empowerment counseling; information and referrals; advocacy and accompaniment; life skills training; general and legal advocacy; transportation; children's program; and household items, clothing and personal care items. A total of 20 women and 29 children received transitional housing services in FY 2014/15. 95000 85000 -10000 Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern PA SATELLITE OFFICE Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern PA operates a satellite office in Greene County. Services provided to victims of domestic violence include: 24-hour hotline; transportation to the Washington County or Fayette County emergency shelter facilities; information and referrals; group and individual empowerment counseling; accompaniment; and legal and general advocacy. In FY 2014/15, our Greene County site fielded 220 domestic violence-related hotline calls. A total of 459 counseling hours were provided to a total of 301 victims, significant others, and children. A total of 67 Protection From Abuse petitions were filed through our Greene County site, which enters all Greene County PFA petitions into the statewide PFA database. 98582 95000 -3582 LEGAL ADVOCACY In addition to DVSSP legal advocacy services offered in our Greene County satellite office, our Legal Advocacy Office in the Washington County Courthouse provides empowerment counseling and legal advocacy to victims of domestic violence. Services include information and referrals and assistance in filing Protection From Abuse petitions. In FY 2014/15, 474 Protection From Abuse petitions were filed through our Washington County legal advocacy program, which also enters all Washington County PFA petitions into the statewide PFA database. In FY 2014/15 in our Fayette County legal advocacy program, 179 Protection From Abuse petitions were filed. 182650 180000 -2650 EDUCATION AND TRAINING DEPARTMENT The DVSSP Education and Training Department focuses on the prevention of domestic violence, community awareness of the impact of domestic violence, trainings about domestic violence and the services available to victims, and volunteer opportunities within the organization. In FY 2014/15 in Washington County: 87 education/awareness programs were provided to 2,327 adults, and 200 education/awareness programs were provided to 5,619 students and youth. Fifteen (15) primary prevention programs were provided to 511 adults, and 172 primary prevention programs were provided to 5,357 students and youth. Fifteen (15) community/systems trainings were provided to 306 persons, and 159 media and events of other types were completed. In FY 2014/15 in Greene County: 21 education/awareness programs were provided to 795 adults, and 66 education/awareness programs were provided to 1,283 students and youth. Two (2) primary prevention programs were provided to 35 adults, and 3 primary prevention programs were provided to 208 students and youth. Ten (10) community/systems trainings were provided to 71 persons, and 69 media and events of other types were completed. In FY 2014/15 in Fayette County: 37 education/awareness programs were provided to 1,062 adults, and 81 education/awareness programs were provided to 2,906 students and youth. Two (2) primary prevention programs were provided to 17 adults, and 9 primary prevention programs were provided to 200 students and youth. Seven (7) community/systems trainings were provided to 59 persons, and 16 media and events of other types were completed.
