Part V, Line 4: The purpose of the fund is to receive and administer funds as an endowment to provide current income and long term protection for the operation of the organization. Part X, Line 2: The Flag House is a not-for-profit organization that is exempt from income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The provisions included in accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America provide consistent guidance for the accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in an entity's financial statements and prescribe a threshold of "more likely than not" for recognition of tax positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. The Flag House performed an evaluation of uncertain tax positions as of June 30, 2014, and determined that there were no matters that would require recognition in the financial statements or, which may have any effect on its tax-exempt status. As of June 30, 2014, the statute of limitations for fiscal years 2011 through 2014 remains open with the U.S. Federal jurisdiction or the various states and local jurisdictions in which the Flag House files tax returns. It is the Flag House's policy to recognize interest and/or penalties related to uncertain tax positions, if any, in income tax expense. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11 The Treasurer and Finance Committee reviews the Form 990 and, if approved, it moves to review and approval by the Executive Committee. If approved, it moves to review, approval and final vote from the full board. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c All board members are required to fill out and sign a conflict of interest form at the beginning of their term(s). The Executive Director reviews the form to determine if any conflict of interests exist, and if so, the matter is refered to the Executive Committee for further action. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15 The Executive Committee compares data on similar positions in the region and makes a recommendation to the full board regarding compensation for senior management employees. The full board then votes on the Executive Committee's recommendation. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, line 19 The organization makes its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements available to the public upon request. Form 990, Part XII, Line 2c: The oversight process has not changed since prior year. Form 990, Part XII, Line 8: The prior period adjustment relates to the audit adjustments that were recorded to the financial statements after the Form 990 was filed with the IRS.
