Compensation for almost all member-filled positions is based on an average hourly rate for cardiologists, as published from an independent source, and the expected annual hourly time commitment. In some instances, the compensation amount is decided by using the market compensation for similar, comparable positions. Compensation for all member held positions are reviewed by an independent (non-compensated) member-only Compensation Committee to ensure compliance with IRS requirements. This process is applied to Board of Trustee officer positions (i.e. President, President Elect, Immediate Past President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary/ Board of Governors (BOG) Chair, BOG Chair Elect and Immediate Past BOG Chair) periodically. Compensation for all other member-filled positions is reviewed with executive committee periodically.
