A written Concept Letter will then be required to be submitted. (See attached Leadership Application Procedures and Guidelines) March 1st & October 1st Awards are made to U.S.-based environmental organizations with 501(c)(3) status, government agencies, or educational institutions. Support for Fellows doing international work may be considered as long as a U.S.-based host organization is the grantee and all the other criteria are met.Proposals must be developed jointly by the organization and a Switzer Fellow. Only Fellows who have concluded their graduate program are eligible to participate in a Leadership Grant Program project. The key criteria of the proposal are:1. The project is relevant to a current and critical environmental issue.2. The project advances the professional career of the Switzer Fellow.3. Include an explanation of how the opportunity will advance the Fellow's career, and the cost of the professional development opportunity along with the funds sought from the Foundation.
