In 2014, LAFLA served nearly 80,000 poor and low-income people by providing legal assistance and case management services in over 13,000 client matters benefiting over 32,080 people (including more than 13,000 children in client households) and also provided important legal information and education to over 48,000 self-represented litigants, clinics and workshop attendees, and gave referrals to over 26,000. LAFLA has one of the most culturally and linguistically diverse staffs in the legal services community, in one of the most diverse regions in the country. Its offices are located in the neighborhoods where their clients live and work: in the City of Los Angeles in the Westlake/Pico Union, South L.A. and Crenshaw/Koreatown, East L.A., Santa Monica and Long Beach. In 2014, VJC coordinated the establishment of the Patriotic Hall "Legal Assistance Center"--a one-stop drop-in legal clinic for Veterans. Creation of the one-stop shop is truly innovative as it brought together multiple legal service providers to provide daily legal assistance to Veterans at a Los Angeles County Veteran services site; something which had never been done in Los Angeles County.
