Participants gathered Monday thru Friday, from 8am until 5pm. The morning program consisted of academics, especially science and math as well as reading. The afternoon's consisted of arts and crafts, swimming, library, and various sports. The day included breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack.Sports Program: This program offered Saturday sports programs for over 100 children ages 6 through 14 for eight week periods throughout the year. Basketball was offered winter and spring and flag football in the fall. In addition to Saturday sports the program offers swimming lessons in the summer and karate in the winter and fall. 47069 After School Program: This program served approximately 20 children after school by providing snacks, homework assistance, sports, music, computers and arts and crafts. The program operates through the school year, Monday thru Friday for about 4 hours per day. 34619 Food Program: This program offered non-perishable groceries to approximately 165 families and individuals on the last Friday of each month. The program also provides meals five days a week to seniors in a congregate setting as well as meals on wheels. Approximately 60 meals a day were served. 17723 Housing Program: This program identified qualified families and individuals whose homes or trailers were in need of repair. Homes were assessed by experts who determined the repairs needed and the costs. The homes were repaired under the direction and supervision of staff. In October 2014, the organization began the initial process to repair approximately 25, homes on foundations.VITA Site: Sacred Heart offers a free income tax site each year beginning in January thru April 15th in collaboration with the United Way. This program provided this service to about 200 individuals/families who otherwise would have to pay for this service.IDA Program: This program is an educational savings program in which the Organization matches participants savings 2 to 1 when $1,000 is saved towards pursuing further education. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c The conflict of interest policy is provided to all board members and any necessary disclosures are made throughout the year. Any conflict of interest that arises is resolved by the board members and is recorded in the official board minutes. Compensation levels are reviewed and compared to current and proposed salaries for all staff, pending available information. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, line 19 The Organization makes its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements available to the general public upon request. Part XII Line 2c-Committe Oversight of the Reviewed Financial Statements: The auditor meets with the Board of Directors making a full presentation at the completion of the review answering any of the Board of Director's questions. The auditor works closely with the Board of Directors during the year should any concerns arise.
