Part I, Line 2: RMHC of Maine reviews requests on a quarterly basis for funding of particular programs or projects in Maine and Eastern New Hampshire through grantmaking. The following is a list of the criteria used to review grant requests. RMHC grants have the purpose of developing, supporting and encouraging programs in four main areas: 1.Ronald McDonald Houses and specially designed rehabilitation facilities and living centers. 2.Health care and medical research. 3.Special education, recreation and art programs for youth (preschool through college age). 4.Civic and social services. In order to qualify for funding, grant requests must: Be from an organization designated as not-for-profit and tax-exempt as defined under IRS codes. Address real problems in a definite manner that directly benefits children, not just study. Analyze or describe existing situations or proposed solutions. Demonstrate the ability to respond to the needs of specific groups of children in a manner that yields measurable results. Provide for consistent management to achieve clear goals and objectives. Either be designed to be completed within a stated time frame or in the nature of a request for startup funds for a program which will continue without ongoing RMHC support.
