Although APCA is exempt from federal income taxes, any income derived from unrelated business activities is subject to the requirement of filing a Federal Income Tax Form 990-T and a tax liability may be determined on these activities. The Organizations policy is to report penalties and interest, if any, associated with uncertain tax positions in other expense. There were no unrelated business activities during fiscal years 2014 and 2013. Therefore, the accompanying statements do not reflect a provision for income taxes. With few exceptions, APCA is no longer subject to examinations by federal and state tax authorities for years before 2009. Community Health Centers pay an annual membership fee to access recruitment, advocacy and technical support as needed throughout the year. The draft is then presented to the full Board at the next regularly scheduled Board Meeting. Currently board members are required to sign a conflict of interest statement upon becoming a board member. Other Changes In Net Assets Or Fund Balances - Other Decreases Reduction of Endowment Fund held by AK Community Foundation = -$15578 Reclassifications There was an adjusting journal entry of $15,578 to remove investment held at Alaska Community Foundation and temporarily restricted net assets from the statement of financial position. The funds held by ACF are Donor Advised Funds and are an asset of the ALaska Community Foundation held for the benefit of APCA. The statements of financial position have been changed to reflect this reclassification on both 2014 and 2013.
