The partnership is designed to assist the client in development of an increased self-worth, self-reliance, as well as an awareness of his inherent strengths and values consistent with the goals of learning, development, independent living and or enhanced self-sufficiency. Mental health and case management services are offered to young people up to 21 years of age. 1832924 Transitional housing provides a structured, well-supervised, independent living opportunity for emancipated foster care youth ages 18-24 as a means of facilitating successful transition from foster care to self-sufficiency. The goal is to reduce homelessness by providing a network of services (counseling, mentoring, G.E.D. preparation) and real-life experiences (budgeting, cooking, resume building) that prepare a young person for the real world. It is a long-term solution that goes beyond housing to providing a place of refuge and support - a home. In addition to providing housing the program also provides support services that include: 1) Case management with the LA County Independent Living Program; 2) Job readiness training that incorporates educational assistance; 3) Individual and group therapy; 4) 24-hour crisis intervention and; 5) Medical and dental service support.
