In 2024 AHAMES in conjunction with HELVETAS Suitzeland has executed a project entitled initiative for Nature and Optimization of Ecological and Economic Values INOVEE. This project was intended to protect the environment and contributed to the reduction of the vulnerability of Haiti due to climate change by protecting the coast in urban and rural areas of Pichon city of Belle Anse. Through the implementation of this project the more than 50% of the households were empowered financially to come out of the poverty condition in which they were living. 250 farmers were involved in agroforestry and environmental protection covering more than 200 hectares of land 50 hectares of mangrove were regenerated and restored and more than 75 hectares of coral reefs and seagrass beds area of Recife were protected. An education campaign was initiated to target more than 200 households involved in charcoal production cutting the mangroves and instead these households were involved in planting 150,000 mangroves plants. 250 locals were converted to farmers producing coffee cacao Yam and plantain and also contributed in the irrigation initiative of 60 hectares of farm land and the construction of 1,500 meters of irrigation canal.
