CCS' community outreach programs for the Deaf supported 148 Deaf-Blind people with assessment, communication equipment, and training on individualized communication equipment. These programs also provided 12,463 hours of support services for 107 Deaf-Blind individuals; 34,311 hours of interpreting services for 2,634 Deaf and hard of hearing persons; and helped 444 people with employment services with 116 people finding jobs. 60 adults and 32 youth received ASL domestic violence education. CCS' Community Living Program provided residential living support for 49 people with developmental disabilities, ranging from a few hours each day of in-home support to 24-hour a day comprehensive care in a licensed group home. 7593948 7434711 Catholic Community Services Family and Children's Services' goal is to help build strong and healthy families in which children are protected, happy and thriving. CCS' programs meet immediate/fundamental needs; help those in transition to become stable; and support families as they achieve strong, secure and independent lives. Pio Decimo Center provided 3,622 families with food and nutrition education and its volunteers and staff prepared 5,944 tax returns for low-income families, resulting in nearly $10.5 million in tax refunds. CCS Programs include: child abuse prevention; supervised visitation; foster family care; special needs and infant adoption; family counseling; domestic violence programs; transitional housing for homeless families; low-cost day care and after school programs; financial education, housing counseling; and matched savings for home-ownership, post-secondary education and starting or expanding small businesses. 2230944 2475615 Catholic Community Services' Nutrition Program provided 240,114 meals for elderly and disabled individuals through its home-delivered meal program and its congregate (group) nutrition centers for seniors. In addition to the food provided, the home-delivered meal program brings a friendly visitor checking on each individual, and the congregate sites provide social interaction and exercise for seniors. 2618127 2264988 CCS' services for the aging also provided 168 low- and middle-income seniors with safe and affordable housing at Barrio Viejo Elderly Housing and Casitas on East Broadway. In rural communities, where lack of transportation can be a barrier to getting to medical care or even grocery shopping, CCS operated the Bisbee Bus provided 50,803 passenger trips. CCS helped settle 282 refugees from 12 countries.
