The childcare program is for children 6 weeks through 5 years. The childcare program is provided in two locations: Southwest and West Houston. 307 children are enrolled including 16 special needs children. In addition, the Center also provides after school classes and activities in different sports, which build confidence and self esteem. The Center also has a variety of cultural, social and recreational programs for high school teens. Over 500 teens take advantage of these programs at the Merfish Teen Center. Finally, the Center provides full summer camp with flexible options to approximately 1,300 children. 3964665 4596258 Center for Health and Recreation: The Center of Health and Recreation provides a variety of programs to keep each individual in shape and healthy. First, the Health Center is a state of the art facility, with the latest fitness equipment, which provides a full range of fitness services to an estimated 2,400 individuals. Second, the aquatic program provides classes designed to teach children the necessary skills to feel comfortable in the water, as well as increasing their self confidence in their swimming ability. The aquatic program also offers classes for adults which help with flexibility and balance. The aquatic program has approximately 420 children and 40 adults enrolled. Third, the gymnastic program teaches proper development skills, self-awareness and is a great fitness program as well as having fun. Over 1,200 children are enrolled in gymnastics classes, teams, and camps. Finally, the state of the art Tennis facility teaches children concentration, focus, hand-eye coordination and motor skills. There are approximately 750 children and 500 adults participating in the program. 2498961 57428 The Center for Community Services: Center for Community Services provides assistance to over 4,200 disabled, homebound, isolated and hospice seniors in Harris County on an annual basis. The Center provides Senior Companion, Foster Grandparent, Meals on Wheels, and RSVP programs. The 159 Senior Companion and Foster Grandparent volunteers provided 138,168 hours of assistance to the community last year. The Meals on Wheels program numbers 173 volunteers that serve 712 seniors who are unable to cook for themselves, estimating over 119,000 meals annually. The RSVP program has over 700 volunteers that provided 77,113 hours of service in 18 counties in partnership with 132 non-profit partner agencies. This RSVP program is the largest in Texas. In addition, the Center provides social, educational and fitness activities for an estimated 1,600 adults over 60. In May 2015, the ERJCC launched J Ride, a non-emergency transportation program. The Center offers educational classes to further one's knowledge in Judaism and in addition, offers many cultural art experiences through Book Fair, Dance Month, and Film Festival. In 2014-15, over 13,000 individuals attended these wonderful events. Finally, the Center provides a variety of dance classes to children of all ages. Children develop creativity in movement and coordination in a non-competitive environment. There are approximately 210 children and 90 adults enrolled in the program. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: During the year, the Center transferred $152,250 to its supported organization, the Jewish Community Center Endowment Fund.
