We strive to serve everyone we encounter with dignity and respect and try to create a sense of empowerment so that our clients are able to achieve self-sufficiency. 0 0 189280 40 The program service for the Victor Farmington Food Cupboard centers around our mission of feeding families and individuals who are food insecure who reside in Ontario County in New York State. We strive to serve everyone we encounter with dignity and respect and try to create a sense of empowerment so that our clients are able to achieve self-sufficiency. We are operated 100% by volunteers and funded 100% by donations.(Continued on Schedule O)To this end, we operate a client choice pantry on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9:30-11:30 and Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 5:30-7:30. We also offer special distributions during the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter holidays, during the summer months and sponsor a Victor Central School Snackpack Program in conjunction with the Victor Cental School District.We serve approximately 500 families per month at the Cupboard permitting families to shop one time each month receiving approximately four days worth of food based upon family size. A shopping guide card tells the family how many vegetables, fruits, combination foods, proteins, dairy, fats and oils, sweets, and grains they can select. A goal for the upcoming year is to increase the amount of food families may select up to a 5 day supply. We spend approximately $10,000 per month to serve our 500 family client base. Donations are solicited from individuals, businesses, and community service groups and organizations for both routine operation and special distributions. We accept both monetary and in-kind donations and apply for grant support as it becomes available. We receive designated payroll donations through the United Way and electronic donations are accepted on a one-time or recurring basis. We buy food to distribute at greatly reduced prices from Foodlink, Inc.
