Director of Operations (supervisor of accountant) reviewed 990, then submitted for President to review and sign 990. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 The organization does not make its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements available to the public. Schedule B, Part I Our organization received grants ($5,000+) from the following French governors - J. Garriaud-Maylam (8,000 euro), Helene Conway (5,000 euro), Richard Young (10,000 euro), Christophe Premat (10,000 euro) and Philip Cordery (7,000 euro). Addresses are available. We apologize for the late filing. Our previous accountant (part-time position) left the organization in May 2015. We had a very hard time looking for a new accountant due to our limited resources. The new accountant joined our organization at the end of October 2015. Because there was no transition from the previous accountant to the new accountant and a very long period of time that our book was not taken care of, it took us a long time to close the book for fiscal year 2014. Also due to no communication between the previous accountant and the new accountant, we were not aware of the deadline to file the return and to request an extension for filing. As soon as we discovered our error, we immediately prepared and filed the return before being notified by the IRS that it was late, thereby demonstrating that we acted responsibly and in good faith. We believe this demonstrates that we did not willfully neglect our filing requirement. To prevent future late filings, we hired our new accountant as a full-time position. She is committed to keeping our book up to date and to filing taxes on time in the future. We are respectfully asking you to be indulgent about our mistake as it was unintentional. Our organization has been running on a very tight budget and would really appreciate if you can waive the penalty for the late filing. Thank you for considering our request.
