It will be held on Sept 11th, 2016 at Riverscape Metropark. Its designated to promote peace literacy through the stories of peace heroes- people such as Bev and John Titus, honorary walk chairs, who rejected vengence in the face of horrific loss Their daughter, Alicia, a flight attendant, died when her plane crashed into the Twin Towers on 9/11. By lifting up the images, names and stories of peace heroes, the walk will raise awareness of the power of nonviolence. As you walk through the labyrinth, you become aware that the central message is The Golden Rule or the Law of Reciprocity, instructing us to treat others as we would have them treat us. The exhibition ends with a quilt that depicts quilted portraits of 15 Peace Heroes, including Nobel Peace Prize Laureates.Avivid dream inspired Janet Bear McTavish to create this series of colorful - and educational - quilts.
