When complete, the Ridge Trail will extend 550 miles and connect over 75 parks and open space preserves in the 9-county Bay Area. At the end of 2015, 365 miles were dedicated. Trail dedications in 2015 totaled 12.6 miles, including: East Slope Sonoma Mountain, Garin-Stonebrae Trail, John Nicholas Trail, North Slope Sonoma Mountain, and Presidio Battery Marcus Miller Bridge Trail. In 2015, the Council hosted 8 marquis supported trail events all around the region, including Ridge to Bridge in Marin and San Francisco, a 5-day East Bay Hills Thru Hike and Ride, and the REI - Ridge Trail Service Day for over 1,585 participants. The Council participated in another 12 community outreach events. A transition team, led by the Chair of the Board, reviewed salary and benefit packages for similar nonprofits in the San Francisco Bay Area.
