<Desc>We believe that sterilization is the only proven method that improves animal well-being in the short, medium and long term. Our aim to make spay and neuter services available to low-income families and stray animals from rescuers and feeders to avoid unwanted litters in South Texas. We have greatly expanded our sterilization program helping over 200 dogs and providing dog food to several families and independent rescuers and feeders. We have been at the forefront of addressing and recognizing that spaying and neutering pets is a critical component that helps with the burden on pet owners, who may not otherwise have the means to afford these procedures. We strategically collaborate with local veterinarians, shelters, and community organizations in South Texas to enhance our rescue and spay/neuter efforts. We are dedicated to increasing access to affordable spay/neuter services for pet owners across Texas, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent responsible pet care. We are committed to reducing the overpopulation of stray animals and helping pet owners in the Rio Grande Valley through dedicated rescue operations and spay/neuter initiatives. This initiative also included provided vaccinations, basic vetting services and food for family pets in need</Desc>

<ExplanationTxt>Financial reports: Detailing how grant funds were spent, including revenues, expenditures, and cost-sharing requirements. Performance reports: Outlining the progress and outcomes of the grant, including project activities, milestones, and objectives. We also assist families with pets, who demonstrate significant financial need with veterinary bills and rehab expenses. We provide funds to help save family pets that have a good prognosis for a return to a normal quality of life. Our goal is to avoid economic euthanasia of otherwise healthy pets. Treatment costs are in most cases paid directly to the veterinary hospitals treating family pets. We ask for families to cover a minimum of 10% of the total medical expense. Applicants are required to fill out an application, submit proofs of financial need such as pay stubs, tax returns, denial of care credit, and an estimate from the vet of the cost of treatment.</ExplanationTxt>

<ExplanationTxt>No one individuals was given a grant of $5,000 or more. We significantly expanded our sterilization and vaccination program in South Texas with grants totaling $68740 towards sterilization of over 200 dogs and providing dog food to several families and independent rescuers and feeders. We believe that sterilization is the only proven method that improves animal well-being in the short, medium and long term. Our aim to make spay and neuter services available to low-income families and for stray animals saved by rescuers and feeders to avoid unwanted litters in South Texas. We also awarded $37,388 of total grants and donations under our Joey & Oreo HEAL Grants Program towards veterinary payments for 36 dogs belonging to owners in financial need. The payments were made directly to the treating veterinary facility for family pets with a good prognosis for recovery. We were successful in saving 60of these dogs, who may otherwise have been euthanized or surrendered (enter the shelter system) due to lack of funds for treatment. All these pets have recovered and are healthy, living happily with their families.</ExplanationTxt>
