It is with initiatives though our H.E.A.R.T.S. of Champions outreach program that we are able education student athletes on career choices, training, and development beyond sports. We hosted a visit by Dr. Bennett Omaiu for the screening and Q & A for the Concussion Movie, where students and parents, and athletes could discuss the movie and its impact on their lives. 22654 JHA for 2015 impacted the lives of hundreds of people. During the course of the year we provided professional development training for students who were entering college. This gave us the ability to shape their understanding of what it means to enter into young adulthood and to do it with confidence. Students were given tools to write essays, complete the editing process, and how to handle face-to-face interviews with confidence. The Adult learners were given lessons in how to handle the nuances of work/life/family balance. While working with students and adult learners is rewarding we also generated enough buzz to provide several professional development encounters with new entrepeneurs. Project P.U.S.H. Womens Leadership Weekend, THe Kingdomview Empowerment Weekend, the Women2Women Philanthropy Weekend, and the iBalanceMe Institute Challenege and Projects we facilitated provided business leaders, teachers, doctors, lawyers, and a host of other persons an opportunity to network and grow in their respective fields. These kinds of platforms ensure that social engagement, civility of action, and concreteness of purpose are learned and exercised. By strategically planning and implementing our focus for persons growing in their respective fields, we are able to meet our objectives of providing substantive learning encounters. Finally J. Hood & Associates launched two successful campaigns leading to garnering funding to support our on-going efforts.
