<DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>Water hauling to the Big Game Guzzlers during the crucial dry summer months, The Big Horn Sheep are dependent on the man made water sources due to the fact that natural water sources such as springs have been depleted by ground water pumping and other types of human consumption as well as record drought conditions. Highways and other developments have also disrupted the historical migration routes used by the Big Horn Sheep to find water during the dry summer months. Volunteers often use their own vehicles to haul water to the remote guzzler locations using small truck mounted tanks. Water hauling this year included a water haul to the Clipper Mountains BGG.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>

<DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>Future Repairs and Upgrades: State and Private grant Funding has allowed for the acquisition of various materials for future repairs and upgrades to the existing Big Game Guzzlers and Natural Spring collection systems. The Society has been able to build and inventory of replacement parts including rain catcher water storage stanks, stainless steel drinker ramps, pipe fittings and fasteners. These future sites scheduled for repair include Teresa Spring in the Marble Mountains, Chuckwalla Spring and Humingbird Spring in the Clipper Mountains, the Loren Lutz Memorial Big Game Guzzler in the Iron Mountains and the Weavernoy BGG in the Granite Mountains. State Lands Future Big Game Guzzler Site acquisition Project: In the 1980's, the Department of Fish and Game (now Fish and Wildlife) lease several State owned properties in the deserts as sites for Big Game Guzzlers, These sites are located on land originally set aside as state school land property as some of these parcels of land exist within the heart of the desert sheep habitat. They are prime locations for Big Game Guzzlers and as the locations are very remote, it is unlikely they will ever be used by the State for the construction of schools. The Society wit the help of the Department of fish and Wildlife and privately contracted biologists have picked 70 potential sites withing these state land parcels and applied to the State Lands Commission for leases on 70 1-1/2 acre lots where Big Game Guzzlers could be built for the improvement of the Bighorn Sheep and other wildlife. Work on this project will continue for several years as additional research and documentation of cultural and archaeological factors must be supplied to the State Lands Commission before the State Lands Commission will approve and grant the leases for guzzler construction. Costs for this project to date have included:1) Acquiring the original State land lease on existing water sources no longer funded by the Department of Fish and Wildlife $79, 2) State Land Lease Application Fee $1,525, Deposit of State Lands Commission for the 70 2 1-2 acre potential sites $25,000. Biological research and documentation to show the viability of these sites as Bighorn Sheep habitat $22,500.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>
