Furthermore, RNM is committed to addressing the need to remove conditions that lead to abject poverty, cycles of disease and ill health, especially among children and women through sustainable development. This includes addressing the lack of basic life's skills or inadequate job skills which leads to low productivity & development in targeted communities. We focus on alleviating acute shortages of sanitary drinking water which significantly contribute to poor health & hygiene among the poor and disenfranchised. RNM also uses safe Water Access and Hygiene education as a tool for integral mission, thereby leveraging the opportunity to share the love of Christ through its intentional gospel proclamation activities. A. Water Wells - Well drilling, WASH (Water And Sanitation Hygiene), Christian Witness/Church Mobilization: In 2015: 6 new deep wells were drilled, 4 water well Rehabilitations were completed; and 2 AWPs - Alternate Water Projects (such as water filtration /treatment systems) -were installed. In addition, we recorded -for existing well sites in communities and schools - we recorded 24 Well Sites visited for on-going O&M (Operate & Maintenance). We also recorded 2 CapM (Capital Maintenance or major well repair) projects done in 2 communities. During the year- we trained 3500 in Hygiene promotion and education in schools, churches and communities. Further, we trained 2500 in Orality methods non-literate learners for use in Christian Witness & Church mobilization outreach to schools, churches and communities. Worked specifically with 6 Churches throughout 2015 to implement some well projects and WASH program activities. Beneficiary communities / churches and schools are: Apostolic Christian Mission Well Obingwu; AustinGlad Int'l Academy, Umuechem Community Well Ariaria (started in 2015 with balance of work to complete in 2016); 2 Rehabs - ABWA market square Well Gboko and St Theresa's Primary school ABWA, near Gboko; AustinGlad Int'l Academy Aba; St Theresa's Primary school ABWA Gboko; Covenant High School Aba; Holy Trinity Sec. School Aba; Apostolic Christian Mission Aba; MayField Schools Well Site visit Aba; Amazing Grace Academy Well Aba; Emeibe Community Well Umuagbai.
