Austin Samaritans emphasis is in the areas of Christian evangelism, education, provisions of medical and dental services and community development. In 2015 the school had a total of 270 students. In 2015 9th grade was added in addition to computer classes. The AWANA program was offered to youths in grades 2 through 7. Also, music lessons on electronic pianos were offered. Over 170 reading glasses were offered to residents of the local barrio. 30000 30000 Ortiz Gurdain Foundation supports a cancer clinic in Managua, Nicaragua. This clinic provides screening for and treatment of breast and cervical cancer for women of limited means. In 2015 in addition to continuing care for women previously diagnosed with cancer an additional 753 women were screened for breast and cervical cancer. Of these, 40 women were diagnosed with and treated for breast cancer. 10 additional women were diagnosed and treated for either precancerous or cancerous lesions of the cervix. 29300 29300 Manna Project is an organization that supports a medical clinic in a low income neighborhood just outside the Managua, Nicaragua city dump. The clinic procides a general medical care and obstetrics/gynecological services to the impoverished residents of Villa Guadalupe. In 2015 the clinic enrolled 1,200 new patients and provided an average of 20 consultations per day. It also distributed 89 pairs of free reading glases to the neighborhood residents. 49636 25500 Additionally Austin Samaritans supports a program in Managua, Nicaragua, that runs a shelter for girls that are at risk of being abused. This program offers a safe environment in which the girls live and go to school. Another supported program offers preschool to children who live in a poor barrio close to the city dump in Managua. This program also offers tutoring for children when they are not in school. Another program offers a clinic to residents of Managua.
