Programs - Tangible Family Support Services Kokua Closet - 245 children served at University Avenue Baptist Church and Central Baptist Church CarePortal 927 children served Events July - iCare Back to School Bash over 1,200 students received new backpacks with school supplies as well as resources received at Back to School Bash event such as clothing, shoes and other goods from Pop Up Kokua Closet. November- National Adoption Month Celebration Worship Night - 2 adoptees from 2 different families presented their personal stories of adoption December - Happy Birthday Jesus Celebration in Mililani with over 50 families served and over 130 children in attendance. An additional 120 keiki who did not attend the celebration, but received a gift. Family Support Services: Hui Ho'ola - Healing Groups/Circles - A talk story small group or family setting with teen girls who were also new mothers. Girls process their emotions in a safe, non-therapeutic setting. This is done by using an evidenced-based, attachment and trauma informed approach. We evaluate the effectiveness of our programs with the data from pre and post assessments, administered by the Program Director in conjunction with the child's care givers and child welfare professionals.
