The goal of the attorney general element of the U.S.Mexico State Alliance Partnership is to strengthen and promote collaboration among state attorneys general from both countries. Bi national exchanges and workshops organized through CWAG, along with NAAG, Mexico's Federal Attorney General's Office (PGR), Mexico's.National Conference of Attorneys General (CNPJ), and Mexico state attorneys general provide a unique opportunity to establish innovative mechanisms that enable dynamic synergies and cross-jurisdictional cooperation on many law enforcement issues. 2008proved to be a dynamic year for the program. The New Mexico State Legislature enacted legislation aimed at criminalizing human trafficking that originated from discussions and informational exchanges among Alliance Partnership members. Arizona and several other state legislators are now considering similar legislation.
