The Student Power Education Fund held a state-wide summit and worked with students across 8 campuses in 2015. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: The NC Queer Youth Power Coalition is a youth-centered collaborative to strengthen the movement for queer liberation in the South. The coalition organizes trainings and events and supports various organizing campaigns. The year culminated in an event with more than 300 people attending the 2015 Queernival: A Southern Celebration of Queer Youth Liberation. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: The NC Coalition for Education Justice is a partnership between students, teachers, and parents in the Triangle area of North Carolina that works to strengthen public education and improve educational opportunities for youth. The coalition successfully won 3 significant changes to the Memorandum of Understanding between Wake County Public Schools at the law enforcement entities who have staff in the schools. These changes improved transparency and tracking mechanisms. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 7: Our movement support program helps build collaborations with other community groups working toward social, economic, environmental, and racial justice in North Carolina. Support is provided to these initiatives through outreach, funding, and promotional work. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 8: Movement to End Racism & Islamophobia is a coalition of Muslim, Christian, Jewish, interfaith, and secular organizations that challenges racism and Islamophobia by building a movement to challenge all forms of oppression. The coalition convened three forums on Islamophobia in Winston-Salem, Raleigh, and Fayetteville. In addition, we were instrumental in a variety of events, namely a People of Color Take Over the Quad protest at UNC-Chapel Hill, a Counter-confederacy protest at UNC-Chapel Hill, an Interfaith event against Islamophobia in Raleigh, and a Hanukkah Action Against Islamophobia and Racism. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 9: Muslims for Social Justice is a network of Muslims who work with interfaith and other groups to foster religious tolerance and understanding and promote justice and human rights.
