The emergency shelter facility located in Washington County has a capacity of 15 beds and 2 cribs. The emergency shelter facility located in Fayette County has a capacity of 13 beds and 3 cribs. Safe shelter is provided in both shelters for up to 30 days at confidential locations. Services provided in the shelters include: 24-hour hotline; 24-hour intake and transportation; individual and group empowerment counseling; children's program; information and referrals; accompaniment; general and legal advocacy; and food, clothing and personal care items. In FY 2015/16, a total of 4,184 shelter nights were provided to a total of 241 women and children in the Washington County shelter, and a total of 2,800 shelter nights were provided to a total of 190 women and children in the Fayette County shelter. The Washington County shelter fielded 414 domestic violence-related hotline calls and the Fayette County shelter fielded 541 domestic violence-related hotline calls. A total of 7,339 hours of individual, group, and hotline empowerment counseling were provided to 935 domestic violence victims, children, and significant others in the Washington County shelter, and a total of 4,407 hours of individual, group, and hotline empowerment counseling were provided to 806 domestic violence victims, children, and significant others in the Fayette County shelter. 346273 249915 -96358 FRESH START TRANSITIONAL HOUSING: The DVSSP Fresh Start Transitional Housing program, which consists of 12 scattered-site apartments in Washington County, provides furnished apartments for up to two years to women, with or without children, who are homeless due to domestic violence. Services provided include: group and individual empowerment counseling; information and referrals; advocacy and accompaniment; life skills training; general and legal advocacy; transportation; children's program; and household items, clothing and personal care items. Services provided to victims of domestic violence include: 24-hour hotline; transportation to the Washington County or Fayette County emergency shelter facilities; information and referrals; group and individual empowerment counseling; accompaniment; and legal and general advocacy. In FY 2015/16, our Greene County site fielded 204 domestic violence-related hotline calls. A total of 461 counseling hours were provided to a total of 276 victims, significant others, and children. A total of 74 Protection From Abuse petitions were filed through our Greene County site, which enters all Greene County PFA petitions into the statewide PFA database. 251532 257970 6438 LEGAL ADVOCACY: In addition to DVSSP legal advocacy services offered in our Greene County satellite office, our Legal Advocacy Office in the Washington County Courthouse provides empowerment counseling and legal advocacy to victims of domestic violence. Services include information and referrals and assistance in filing Protection From Abuse petitions. In FY 2015/16, 475 Protection From Abuse petitions were filed through our Washington County legal advocacy program, which also enters all Washington County PFA petitions into the statewide PFA database. In FY 2015/16 in our Fayette County legal advocacy program, 430 Protection From Abuse petitions were filed. 218297 293845 75548 EDUCATION AND TRAINING DEPARTMENT: The DVSSP Education and Training Department focuses on the prevention of domestic violence, community awareness of the impact of domestic violence, trainings about domestic violence and the services available to victims, and volunteer opportunities within the organization. In FY 2015/16 in Washington County: 80 education/awareness programs were provided to 3,909 adults, and 150 education/awareness programs were provided to 5,283 students and youth. One (1) primary prevention program was provided to 19 adults, and 146 primary prevention programs were provided to 4,849 students and youth. 23 community/systems trainings were provided to 619 persons, and 118 media and events of other types were completed. In FY 2015/16 in Greene County: 23 education/awareness programs were provided to 862 adults, and 61 education/awareness programs were provided to 1,421 students and youth. One (1) primary prevention program was provided to 6 adults, and nine (9) primary prevention programs were provided to 232 students and youth. Five (5) community/systems trainings were provided to 20 persons, and 59 media and events of other types were completed. In FY 2015/16 in Fayette County: 40 education/awareness programs were provided to 614 adults, and 14 education/awareness programs were provided to 1,376 students and youth. One (1) primary prevention program was provided to 12 adults, and 17 primary prevention programs were provided to 1,457 students and youth. Three (3) community/systems trainings were provided to 40 persons, and 33 media and events of other types were completed.
