Government Relations and Communications: The NRA monitors both Federal and State government and legislation for changes in their policies as they relate to the restaurant industry. Depending on the specific issue, the NRA, along with the State Restaurant Associations, develops an appropriate position and response to the specific issue and works with government agencies/organizations to achieve the best possible outcome for the industry. The NRA maintains and distributes publications on various matters that affect the industry. Annual Trade Show: The 2015 National Restaurant Association Show attracted 63,676 attendees from all over the United States and 110 different countries, covering 638,424 square feet, representing The accounting standard on Accounting for Uncertainty in Income Taxes addresses the determination of whether tax benefits claimed or expected to be claimed on a tax return should be recorded in the financial statements. Under this guidance, the Organization may recognized the tax benefit from an uncertain tax position only if it is more likely than not that the tax position will be sustained on examination by taxing authorities, based on the technical merits of the position.
