The chamber provides services, expertise and resources in an open, mutually beneficial way to help the 640 (approximate) chamber members to succeed and prosper as a vital part of the culver city community. The chamber sponsors and promotes business community events and meetings on a monthly or other periodic basis as follows: monthly breakfast meetings; other breakfast & luncheon meetings pertaining to specific issues; member hosted mixers; grand openings for new businesses. Approximately 1,500 people attended these events in total. The Chamber sponsors and conducts annual community events including the following: mayor's luncheon; business expo; chamber golf tournament; labor law seminar. Approximately 1,600 people attended these events in total. The Chamber supports the Culver City Scholarship Fund for high school seniors. The chamber publishes chamber member directory, sends out e-biz newsletter, and e-pak featuring member events, promotions, and services. In addition, the chamber has a website providing information to both its members and non members. The Cuvler City PAC is an independent political action committee that supports candidates for election to city council and school board in the city of Culver City, California. Candidates must have been endorsed by the chamber board in accordance with chamber policy guidelines. Policy guidelines preclude opposition positions against candidates. 6734 4772 1962 14288 10698 3590 5552 Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 6 The chamber only has one class of members who has the following rights: A) to participate at chamber meetings, events, and business expositions; B) to vote to elect board members to the Chamber board; C) to exclusively advertise for offering their products and services in all chamber print publications, e-newsletters, chamber website as well as at chamber meetings, events, and business expositions; D) to exclusively sponsor or host membership mixers and monthly meetings, annual events, and seminars. Given that chamber members in good standing have the exclusive rights to advertise, host and sponsor, no exceptions are made to non-member persons or businesses. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7a On an annual basis, chamber members vote to elect members to the chamber board of directors. Any comments raised by president/CEO will be discussed with the CPA and any necessary changes will be made to the return prior to filing. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12 Although there hasn't been a formal process in regularly and consistently monitoring and enforcing conflict of interest policy, board members have abstained from discussing and voting on matters that they may have a potential conflict. From that data, the finance committee makes a recommendation as to the president/ceo's salary that is then approved by the full board.
