In 2015, we published 53,995 pages or 4,309 articles. We also began a pilot program to administer the Worldwide Telescope (WWT) software originally developed by Microsoft. The Council has approved funding for the pilot program through December of 2016. Based on the success of the program, Council will consider permanently adding the WWT to the Society's suite of programs. 5050628 4990959 MEETINGS:The AAS holds two meetings per year in addition to the annual meeting for the six Divisions of the AAS. The meetings serve as a venue in which the members can share scientific research with our community. In addition to formal presentations, we ensure that events are scheduled to facilitate the sharing of information and ideas. In 2015, over 3,640 registrants attended the AAS meetings. Additionally, we have over 60 exhibitors at our meetings. In addition to our annual meetings, the AAS was selected to host the 2015 International Astronomical Union General Assembly. AAS also facilitates member visits to their local congressional offices in the summer recess. The AAS also submits written testimony to appropriations committees in the spring for NASA and the National Science Foundation, and lends our name to coalition letters for increased R&D funding or other broad science policy or science education topics. Similarly, AAS asks their members a few times a year to contact their members of congress on budget or other issues.
