During the camp experience, participants spend time with their peers and staff while eating, sleeping, praying and learning new skills. With our longstanding commitment to and emphasis on reconciliation, we are unique both in our service area and throughout the United States. A former CEO of the American Camp Association, says this of Tall Turfs exceptional diversity, Camp Tall Turf is one of a handful of camps in our country providing leadership and setting an example of both the possibility and benefits of a diverse and inclusive camp community for all children and young people.This sort of leadership is needed because we live in a broken world. In America, that brokenness often manifests itself along racial and ethnic lines. TTM believes that in order for us to make progress towards Gods vision of wholeness and unity, we need to first be reconciled. This effort of reconciliation is a wonderful gift from God. (2 Cor. 5:16-18)Though not exclusive, TTMs primary emphasis is to serve youth aged 14-17 through numerous summer camp experiences and TTMs year round programs. Teens are challenged to take intentional, healthy steps forward in the journey of reconciliation. Whether at summer camp, local schools, churches or neighborhoods, TTMs programs are designed to instill Christ-centered servant leadership in the area of reconciliation. TTM believes molding and shaping teens to be servant leaders today results in stronger leaders for tomorrow. From local churches, businesses, organizations, neighborhoods and beyond, TTMs alumni can be found leading in many areas. The stakes are certainly high as the complexities of misguided reconciliation continue today. But through TTM, there is a fresh, ongoing discovery of Christ-centered reconciliation that is taking place daily in the hearts and lives of teenagers. The result: each young person is being better molded and shaped according to His plans and purpose.
