TCW provides career readiness training, advanced technical training, job placement and career advising to help Tulsans advance their careers and earn more money. Results of a 5-year randomized control trial research study released in 2016 prove that TCW participants have increased earnings and employment when compared to a control group. The research findings show that TCW participants are more likely to earn more money, complete vocational training and find employment in the targeted sector, secure a job that offers benefits and grow in a job that offers many opportunities for career advancement.In 2016, TCW provided 262 individuals with Career Readiness Training, job placement, advanced training and career services. TCW's 2016 average placement wage was $12.01, a 27% increase from the time of enrollment and the average promotion wage was $13.99, a 48% increase from time of enrollment. In NYC, the Career Directions program partners with community organizations, layering MSGs individualized job preparation, placement services, and ongoing retention support onto the social, legal, and financial stabilizing services of its community partners. The Career Connections program provides its tailored training and employment services, as well as post-release mentoring and support for individuals recently released from Rikers Island. Across both programs, 334 individuals found new employment, with an average wage of more than $14.50/hour. MSG bolstered its offerings with financial security strategies through WorkBOOST NYC, a partnership with The Financial Clinic that served over 150 individuals with financial coaching and workshops over the course of the year. MSGs innovative work and successful outcomes were recognized at the New York City Employment and Training Coalition (NYCETC) 2016 Opportunity Awards.
