The Organization's commitment and vision is to reduce emotional and physical trauma caused by growth disorders, resulting in happier, healthier children and consequently, adults. 0 0 768309 The Organizaiton provides specific assistance to families of children with growth disorders. Magic Foundation provides information and education materials on growth disorders through a newsletter and website. An annual convention is held to provide further assistance and education. We have a governing Board of Directors. Our services include growth awareness campaigns, quarterly newsletters, financial scholarships for attendance to our annual educational convention, assist with insurance appeals for families denied drug coverage, provide an extensive web site covering educational materials for a multitude of growth disorders, and provide referrals for families needing a specialist for specific growth disorders. We received a congressional resolution for "Growth Awareness Week", every 3rd week of September. We have over 25 educational brochures that are free to newly diagnosed families and doctors offices. Membership is available to anyone and free for those that cannot afford it. Membership is available on our web site and our membership brochure. The Foundation qualifies for the charitable contribution deduction under Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) and has been classified as an organization that is not a private Foundation under Section 509(a)(1). The taxexempt purpose of the Foundation and the nature in which it operates is described above. Management believes the Foundation continues to operate in compliance with its tax-exempt purpose. Thus, no provision for income tax has been provided for in the financial statements. The Foundation's Form 990, Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax, is subject to examination by the IRS, generally for three years after it has been filed. The Foundation has adopted the requirements for accounting for uncertain tax positions and management has determined that the Foundation was not required to record a liability related to uncertain tax positions as of December 31, 2016.
