Again three economically disadvantaged students were fully scholarshipped and four others paid 50 percent of costs. Program fees were reduced for most of the teams in order to benefit economically strapped students, giving them an opportunity to participate. Mini Club at season end consisting of 8 teams had tuition reduced so they could participate and afford to go to AAU championships. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b Upon completion of the 990 data the form was saved as a pdf and emailed to the board members for approval. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c The treasurer also does the books and monitors on a monthly basis anything that needs to be addressed or taken to the board for approval. Also the treasurer is degreed in non profit administration and is trained in conflict of interest policies. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 Compensation for the Director who is the President of Club Steel, was based on three other volleyball club organizations in the area and is substantially 40 percent less than the for profit organizations. The treasurer who does the bookkeeping and accounting is paid 60 percent less than the rate of other accounting professionals in the area. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 The books are available upon request. Form 990, Part IX, Line 11g Independent coaches are hired to coach and train the volleyball teams throughout the year, and to provide private lessons for those desiring to increase their skills. Form 990, Part IX, Line 24e Program service costs include the coaches annual league memberships to AAU, equipment purchased, printing and copying schedules, supplies, telephone and tournament registration fees of $35911.50. Facility costs include equipment repairs and maintenance and janitorial expenses. Form 990, Part XI, Line 9 There were unpaid balances that were written off as an expense at the end of the season as they would be unrecoverable. This did not actually affect the cash flow and if had been kept on the books into 2017 would account for the difference. Extension was filed.
