FISH's Mobile Food Bank visits ten unique sites weekly, including schools and community centers in areas of great need.In 2016, FISH Food Banks served 5000,000 client visits, positively impacting the lives of more than 70,000 unduplicated residents. Since 2008, the community's need for food distribution through FISH has increased 132%.Our goal is to provide each client with enough nutritious food to make at least three meals a day for three days. Clients "shop" for the food that best meet the cultural and dietary needs of their families. No one in need is turned away.Because so many food bank clients need more than food, FISH offers wraparound services: Connection Centers offer a single access point for dozens of community resources; nutrition and cooking education; preventive health services; clothing banks provide free clothing and limited household goods at two food banks; and advocacy as a form of self-empowerment.FISH Food Banks are committed to making the most effective and efficient use of the community's generous support. For every dollar donated, FISH is able to distribute $9 worth of food. Shelves were stocked in 20165 with more than 6.5 million pounds of donated food.
