Mental health wellness messages and activities are promoted in all of its programs. false false 826445 The Organization operates four main programs: The Black Womens Media and Wellness Project, Health Through Art (HTA), the 10x10 Alameda County Wellness Campaign and Downtown TAY (Transitional Age Youth).In 2015 the Black Womens Media Project (BWMP) celebrated 10 years of offering stress reduction and mental health education through its Be-Still Retreat. The program has served over 4,000 people. A commemorative poster was developed and distributed widely. During this year, it adopted a new program name and does business as the Black Womens Media and Wellness Project; Health Through Art (HTA) chose 10 community generated art pieces from its 11th Call for Art to develop mental health awareness campaigns. The winning art was used in Roving Art Shows and a Stop the Violence Apparel campaign. Each winner was awarded a cash prize. The 10x10 Alameda County Wellness Campaign held its annual We Move For Health with over 500 attendees and two Get Fit Challenges to assist those with mental health challenges to extend their life longevity through movement, nutritional education and peer support and distributed Re-Think your Drink posters and education throughout Alameda County; Downtown TAY conducted two Culture Broker Academies with 16 Transitional Age Youth, participating in its first 3 day trip to the Sierra and continued to facilitate employment and housing resources, peer support groups, urban gardening, to reconnect transitional age youth to community supports. All programs are predominantly funded by contracts with the County of Alameda Behavioral Health Care Services and operates on a fiscal year calendar. The Organization continued to provide technical assistance and program management for the Mental Health Services Act Innovations Grant Program and coordinated two Learning Conferences focused on serving the LGBTI2S community and Isolated Adults and Older Adults.
