Hope house is a non-smoking program. The duration of the program is based on medical necessity as deemed by a licensed physician. Upon completion of our residential SUD program, 85% of our women are successfully reunited with their children, 100% are crime free, and 74% are either employed or attending school or a vocational program.Hope House (Transitional Housing for Women and Men):The second component of Hope House is a transitional housing program which allows our women who successfully complete our residential SUD program to move into transitional living. The requirements are to remain free from alcohol and other drugs, to be employed and/or enrolled in an educational or training program, to attend house meetings, to attend 12-step meetings and to be compliant with our rules and regulations. Our alumnae are required to follow their individualized treatment plan and attend our weekly alumni group. Graduates from other SUD programs may also qualify for transitional housing.In addition we have transitional housing for men. Many of our residents have been incarcerated in the past therefore our supportive residence is an option for them providing they follow our requirements. The requirements are to remain free from alcohol and other drugs, to be employed and/or enrolled in an educational or training program, to attend weekly house meetings, to attend 12-step meetings and to be compliant with our rules and regulations. Residents enter our program as graduates from SUD programs, from the local shelters, from San Mateo County, from community service centers, from case managers and by self-referral.Case Management is a component of our transitional housing. Each resident is expected to have concrete goals while residing in our homes which not only help them remain clean and sober but also help them move along the continuum of self-sufficiency and eventually transition to permanent housing. We help our residents form linkages with partnering community resources and support systems and assist them with both their basic and complex needs. 445651 163319 Community:The Organization offers a food pantry, bus passes, and other basic needs including motel vouchers to those in need of such services. Services provided to ex-offenders include guidance, counseling, referral, employment networking to preclude the ex-offender from engaging in illegal activity or antisocial behavior. 354066 In-Custody Services: This program coordinates and delivers programs within the various adult correctional facilities in San Mateo County. These programs provide problem-solving, humanitarian, educational and personal growth oriented services. All services exist to provide rehabilitation, education, stress reduction, personal growth, and emergency assistance. Our client population consists of jail inmates, former inmates, and their families. The agency conducts a Request Message Program for inmates providing the following: Contact with attorneys, families, probation officers, employers among others; we arrange for release of personal property to family members; we inform medical and custody staff of individual problems or needs; we relay requests for services provided by other agencies; and we respond to family questions and concerns regarding the inmate, the criminal justice system or jail regulations. Jury Trial Clothes are provided to all inmates that are going through trial. To "level the playing field", the agency solicits donations of clothing suitable for Court and dresses for all inmates in need. The Bar Association Private Defender program and the Sheriff's Office provide the funds needed for cleaning and clothing purchases when donations do not fill the need. Inmate Orientations are held twice weekly by Jail Coordinators who provide information to newly jailed inmates about the correctional process and various jail procedures including availability of facility programs, such as AA, NA and Religious services. Various other assistance programs available through the Service League are also discussed. An important agency service is screening for clearance and orientation of persons working/volunteering in the correctional facilities who are not Sheriff's Office personnel. As a part of the Service League's mission, we develop, schedule, and monitor volunteers and community providers engaged in a broad range of programs and activities. Outreach to families of inmates is provided in the Maguire Correctional Facility lobby during visiting hours. Families are provided with friendly support, information, referral, and advocacy regarding their concerns.
