We focused on completing the research; and designing, writing and producing the Penguin Random House book. We continued to assemble a broad-based coalition of climatologists, engineers, biologists, fellows, financial analysts, architects, indigenous leaders, agronomists, activists, NGOs, and agencies to review and validate all data, models, and text.RESEARCHoWe continued to support our global Research Fellowship program. Each Fellow came to us with considerable expertise in their field, and our fellowship program fostered their development into a cohort of up-and-coming climate leaders. These students, scholars, scientists, entrepreneurs, and advocates learned how to describe a realistic path forward in which humanity achieves drawdown. They completed extensive literature reviews and created climate and financial models for each solution. They received public speaking and media training to prepare them to be spokespersons for Project Drawdown.oUnder the guidance of the Senior Research Team, composed of our Research Director Chad Frischmann and five Senior Fellows, a cohort of 32 Research Fellows completed a second phase of research, analysis, and modeling of the Drawdown solutions. During the 2016 Fellowship, the Drawdown Research Team evaluated and augmented the initial research conducted by previous cohorts of Drawdown Fellows, collected additional data as needed, revised and refined model methodology as needed. At the conclusion of the 2016 fellowship, the Senior Research Team did the vastly complex work of integrating the solutions models into sector and global models, which included analysis of double counting, systems dynamics, and rebound effects. The results of this effort are published in Drawdown.OUTREACHoThe first written draft of Drawdown, our book that maps, measures, models, and describes the 100 most substantive solutions to global warming, was completed.
