Thanks to the generous support of our volunteers, donors and corporate partners, we experienced another year of significant milestones and achievements. We unveiled 24 new villas as part of our Banyan Park expansion, bringing our total villa count to 168. Many of our new villas feature 3-bedroom floorplans, the first time we are able to offer that option to visiting families. The opening of Banyan Park allows us to serve up to 1,400 additional families each year. We distributed more than 160,000 attraction tickets, logged over 380,000 volunteer hours, served over 320,000 meals and scooped up over 9,000 gallons of ice cream. Each initiative fits into GKTW's plan to "Grow The Family and expand GKTW's base of volunteers, supporters and advocates - a strategy that the Organization anticipates will produce results over the next three to five years. In 2016, GKTW hired Turnkey Inc. as a professional fundraising consultant on two separate occasions to explore new fundraising techniques. In August, Turnkey, Inc. was engaged to educate GKTW staff on the psychology of individual giving and how to incorporate these behaviors into the development of peer-to-peer fundraising programs. No contributions were solicited as part of this contract; this was a long term, planning and development session only, with anticipated growth within the next three to five years. Turnkey was paid $36,000 for these consulting services. Additionally, Turnkey was hired to assist in the execution of our year-end campaign. Turnkey offered donor segmenting ideas and a behaviorally triggered email system. GKTW raised $38,000 from this campaign. Turnkey was paid zero dollars for these consulting services. The amount of $36,000 paid to Turnkey Promotions during 2016 was for professional services only, and did not include payments for the reimbursement of expenses. The fundraising agreement provides for the payment of professional services expenses at standard rates, and the reimbursement of expenses at the cost incurred for such expenses. In 2016, GKTW consulted with My Super Marketer to develop a digital marketing campaign to stimulate awareness of GKTW. My Super Marketer assisted with rebranding two of our fundraising campaigns: Scoops of Hope and O-Town MacDown. Contributions associated with these campaigns totaled $18,861 and amounts paid in total to My Super Marketer for all services provided in 2016 was $45,500. A third campaign was originally scheduled for November, but was later canceled. The amount of $45,500 paid to My Super Marketer during 2016 was for professional services only, and did not include payments for the reimbursement of expenses. The resort features two pools, miniature golf, a carousel and a life-sized game of CANDY LAND. Working with our corporate partners, GKTW creates vacation packages for our guest families by acquiring attraction tickets, transportation services, small gifts and other services. No child is ever turned away, and there is never any charge to visiting families. Each year approximately 27,000 children in the United States are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Roughly half of those who become eligible for a wish through wish-granting organizations choose to visit Central Florida and its collection of theme parks and other attractions. Our goal, quite simply, is to provide everything these deserving families need to make their trip the vacation of a lifetime. Since 1986, more than 150,000 children and families have had their dreams fulfilled in a whimsical Village unlike any other place on earth.
