Of the homeowners we helped, 54 % were over 65 years of age, 24% of the homeowners live with a disability, and 16 % of homeowners are Veterans or widows of Veterans. Most of the homeowners are living on Social Security as their only source of income making it difficult to afford the repairs needed to provide a safe and healthy home. We are grateful for our 180 volunteers who gave over 1800 hours of their time to ensure our neighbors have a safe and healthy home. The Executive Committee acts in an advisory role to the Board, and has such powers as delegated by the Board. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11b The Form 990 is reviewed by the Executive Director and e-mailed to the board prior to being filed. The Form 990 is then reviewed at the board meeting immediately following filing. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c Board of directors are covered by the conflict of interest. The board of directors determines whether a conflict exists and the conflicts are reviewed. Persons with conflicts do not vote on issues in which they have a conflict. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15 The Executive Committee determines the Executive Director's salary based off of their knowledge of area staffing expenses and makes a recommendation to the board of directors who then set the salary of the Executive Director. One of the members of the executive committee is an employee of Volt Workforce Solutions, and another is an Executive Director at another Tax exempt organization. They bring their knowledge of salaries paid in the industry and area to determining the Executive Director's compensation.
