<DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>WATER HAULING TO BIG GAME GUZZLERS DURING CRUCIAL DRY SUMMER MONTHS: The Big Horn Sheep are dependent on the man made water sources due to the fact that natural water sources such as springs has been diminished by ground water pumping and other types of human consumption as well as the 2016 record drought conditions. Highways and other developments have also disrupted the historical migration routes used by the Sheep to find water during the dry summer months. Volunteers often use their own vehicles to haul water to the remote guzzler locations with small truck mounted tanks. Water hauling in 2016 included a commercial water truck delivery of 4,000 gallons to the South I-40 big game guzzler.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>

<DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>CHUCKWALLA SPRING AND TERESA SPRING WATER STORAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT: Install new rain catcher water storage tanks at Chuckwalla Spring in the Clipper Mountains and Teresa Spring in the Marble Mountains. With the use of volunteer labor and a Department of Fish and Wildlife approved contract helicopter air ship, the new tanks and installation materials were delivered to these remote locations. The existing old spring boxes were dug out and the process of plumbing the spring water to the new rain catcher drinker tanks was started. These tanks were painted with desert camouflage so as to blend with the natural terrain and meet appearance standards set by the Bureau of Land Management. This project required permits by the Bureau of Land Management and biological research was completed by Fish and Wildlife Consultant Dr. Vernon C. Bleich in order to satisfy the permit requirements. The insallation of new tanks at these two sites wignificantly increases the water storage capacity and should provide a good water supply during the dry summer months.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>
